The art students took part in “The Big Show” in Wakefield where they competed against 18 other schools from around the area and Iowa. It was a very tough show to compete in and our students did great. Some of our upper-level students entered more than one work of art and received high marks. We did have 2 student receive a Judge’s Merit, which is one of the higher awards you can receive at the show, these students were Kiya Tornez for her printmaking of her fish and Jaden Hampson for his printmaking of his initials. At this art show the students that attend also vote for their favorite art from each school and that student receives a top artist award for his or her school. Julio Ferrusca was voted the best artist from Emerson-Hubbard! Congratulations to all of you!
