Lewis & Clark

There was no margin for error in any event on Saturday in Ponca, where the soggy Lewis & Clark track meet took place.

The Wolfpack girls had a good, but not banner day, finishing fifth in the talented 16-team competition.

Jayda Stallbaum and Mica Tornez stood out in their efforts.  Kiya Tornez and Bre Millard both had good days.

The girls 4X100 relay took home a lone championship and are poised to make a run for Omaha in two weeks.

The boys struggled to place high, but Jackson Belt’s 6-foot leap in the high jump and Bryan Isom collecting four medals on the day were highlights.

The Wolfpack squads will travel to Laurel Thursday, to compete in the Jim Winch Invitational.  Start time is 10:00 a.m.

COACHES COMMENTS:

“The teams competed well, but most struggled to reach some of their better efforts posted already this season.  Nonetheless, it sends the message that nothing is guaranteed, and work is still needed to improve.  The coaches appreciated the efforts given.  This group now must hone events to be at our best in 2 weeks.  Congratulations on a good day today.”
