Bryan Isom state track

Every athlete has some aspirations to step foot on the biggest stage in the state ending the season.

The Tri County Northeast Wolfpack sent six athletes to Omaha this past weekend to attempt to bring home some medals for the seasonโ€™s efforts.

Only one athlete was fortunate enough to win a medal.  Senior, Bryan Isom, was that athlete.  Isom finished sixth in the 300 hurdles in a clocking of 40.32.  The time also bettered Isomโ€™s time of 41.07 which he established earlier this year.

Isom also competed in the triple jump and 110 hurdles, where he finished 13th in the 110 hurdles clocking a time of 15.63.  In the triple jump, Isom posted a leap of 41โ€™4โ€ good for 13th place, but short of his personal best leap of 43โ€™1โ€.  Isom finishes his career with three cooperative records.

Jackson Belt competed in the high jump for the third consecutive year.  Belt tied his career best jump at 6โ€™0โ€. Beltโ€™s effort was good for a 16th place tie in the event.  Beltโ€™s 6โ€™0โ€ leap gives him the cooperative record in the event as well.

Junior, Kiya Tornez, ran individually in 100 and 200 races.  Tornez clocked a time of 12.72, just short of a career best, but only good enough for 13th place.  In the 200, Tornez clocked a career best time of 26.73, earning a 17th place overall finish.

The girls 4X100 had difficulties getting the baton around the track in a clean fashion, and finished with a time of 51.14, which was 15th place, but well short of a season best time and cooperative record of 50.75.  Members, Rachael Bousquet, Bre Millard, Joslyn Mackling, and Kiya Tornez made up the team.

The seasonโ€™s end saw 12 cooperative records set, and several that were almost set during the season.

COACHES COMMENTS:

โ€œIt was an interesting season, with much success.  The entire team constantly gave a good effort and constantly worked to improve themselves.  It will be interesting to see who steps up and leads the program next year.  The quartet of Bryan Isom, Jackson Belt, Mica Tornez and Bre Millard are going to be missed. As always, someone will step up and take on the role.  Itโ€™s just a matter of who that will be.  The coaches are extremely honored and proud to have worked with all the athletes this past season."
