The TCNE Lady Wolfpack faced a challenging matchup Friday night as the Bloomfield Lady Bees applied relentless offensive pressure on their way to a 62–25 victory. Despite the final margin, the Wolfpack showed stretches of improved rebounding and defensive grit, particularly from their younger players.

Bloomfield jumped out to a 13–2 lead in the opening quarter and extended the gap with a 20-point second frame, but TCNE responded with stronger ball movement and more consistent shooting before halftime. The Wolfpack’s best offensive stretch came in the second quarter, where they put up 12 points—highlighted by efficient finishes from Maddie Franzluebbers and Emily Mitchell.

Sophomore Maddie Franzluebbers led TCNE with six points on an efficient 75% shooting night (3-for-4), while juniors Joslyn Mackling and Briley Anderson added inside scoring and second-chance opportunities. Anderson and freshman DeLaney Fuchser anchored the boards, each pulling down six rebounds, helping TCNE collect 32 total rebounds against a physical Bloomfield frontcourt.

Senior Sam Rastede had one of the most complete performances of the night, finishing with nine rebounds, two points, two assists, and a steal. Her defensive presence and rebounding helped slow Bloomfield’s transition game in the second half.

While turnovers—33 in total—hampered the Wolfpack’s ability to sustain offensive momentum, the team continued to battle on the defensive end, forcing tough shots late and limiting Bloomfield to 11 fourth-quarter points.

With several young contributors gaining valuable varsity experience and the team showing progress in rebounding and defensive rotations, TCNE will look to build on Friday’s positives as they continue their early-season development.
