The Tri County Northeast Wolfpack boys basketball team faced a tough early-season challenge Friday night, dropping a 63–53 decision to Laurel-Concord-Coleridge in a game that tested TCNE’s defensive discipline and offensive efficiency.

TCNE stayed competitive throughout the contest but struggled to keep pace with LCC’s consistent scoring inside and timely perimeter shooting. The Wolfpack finished the night shooting 38 percent from the field, while LCC converted at a higher clip and capitalized on second-chance opportunities.

The Wolfpack struggled to establish more than one go-to scorer, highlighting a balanced but inconsistent offensive night. TCNE showed flashes of success when moving the ball and attacking the paint, especially from senior Thatcher Lamp who led the pack with 15 points but stretches of missed shots allowed LCC to gradually create separation.

Defensively, TCNE was active on the glass, finishing with 39 total rebounds and limiting easy transition looks. Junior Landyn Servine anchored the rebounding effort, while the Wolfpack forced multiple contested possessions through help defense and interior pressure. However, LCC’s ability to convert from both inside and beyond the arc proved decisive.

Turnovers also played a role, as TCNE committed 22 on the night, leading to additional scoring chances for the home team. Despite those miscues, the Wolfpack continued to compete, cutting into the deficit late and showing resilience down the stretch.

While the result did not go TCNE’s way, the game provided valuable experience against a disciplined opponent. The Wolfpack will look to build on their rebounding effort and defensive intensity as they continue conference play and work toward greater offensive consistency looking ahead to their games at Winside on December 18th and Ponca on Friday December 19th
