Grayson Anderson, Karlee Duncan, and Camilla Ramos qualified for the National Civics Bee Regional Competition held in Fremont on Wednesday, April 8th. This is the first time that the competition has ever been held in Nebraska. They competed against 14 other students to advance to the State level. In the first two rounds, they had to answer a series of civics and American history questions. Those that placed in the top 5 at the end of round 2 would advance to the final round. All 3 of our students tied for 4th in the 2nd round, so they had to complete a tie-breaker. Karlee and Grayson both advanced to finals.

In the final round, they had to give a summary of the essay they had written to qualify for regionals and then answer the judges' questions. Karlee ended up placing 5th overall and Grayson placed 3rd which qualifies him for the State competition in June down in Lincoln! He also received a $500 award. Way to go Grayson! Good luck at STATE!
