Junior, Rhyanne Mackling, competed in the state cross country meet this past Friday in Kearney.

Mackling ran 53rd out of the 123 young women running the Kearney Country Club course.  Mackling’s time of 22:53 was not her best of the season, but respectable none the least.

The experience gained, through learning the course, competition and general climate of the event will be an asset next season for the Wolfpack runners, as all teammates accompanied Rhyanne for the weekend.

COACHES COMMENTS:

“Rhyanne did a nice job in Kearney.  She earned the trip and opportunity, and she deserved it.  She was a little disappointed about her time, not reaching a season best, but she competed well and to be in the upper 40% of the field was a very respectable showing.  The rest of the team saw thousands of people running all over the course cheering people on and that experience should be enough to motivate all of them to come back even stronger next fall.  Congratulations to Rhyanne and the team for an outstanding first year of Wolfpack X-C.  Great job!!!”
