Taven Kent and Keegan Hightree spent all day playing music at the Lewis and Clark Conference Honor Band on Saturday, January 18th, 2025. Taven performed with the Junior High Band. The junior high band had its first performance under the clinician of Jessica Steckly. Keegan performed with the High School band under the clinician of Michael Genslinger. Keegan got second chair in the tenor saxophone section in which he medaled for as well. Both students also received certificates for attending the honor band. Congrats Taven and Keegan!

It’s a busy Saturday of activities! TCNE Boys JH A team is playing at Homer Tournament this morning. Wolfpack Speech team traveled to Wisner-Pilger HS for the “Practice Makes Perfekt” meet. TCNE Girls Wrestlers are in action on the mats at the Plainview Meet. Musicians from Allen and Emerson-Hubbard are representing our schools at L&C Honor Band at WSC in Wayne today. Emerson-Hubbard Community Schools is currently accepting sealed bids for a 2015 Chrysler Town and Country van. Bids are being accepted until Wednesday, February 12, 2025. Mail sealed bids to: Dale Martin, E-H Superintendent P.O. Box 9 Emerson, Nebraska 68733 OR drop off in person to the superintendent's office at 109 W. 3rd Street, Emerson. E-H Middle School Spelling Bee: All 6-8 grade students took the written spelling test and 15 students advanced to the school oral bee. They were 6th Graders: Ty N., Jaxon S., Jayden W., Evan H., & Naya S., 7th Graders: Abe M., Grayson A., Madyx B., Paxton S., & Curtis K., 8th Graders: DeLaney F., Drayden N., Bella D., Kash M., & Eddy O. The top 4 MS Spellers, (Abe -1st, Drayden & Bella-tie for 2nd, & Kash-3rd), along with 5th Grade winner, Inga Speiser, advance to the Dixon County Spelling Bee to be held in Allen on Tuesday, January 28, 2024 @ 1:30 P.M. (alternate-Naya) Congratulations E-H Spellers! Good luck at the Dixon County Bee!

In this water unit, 2nd grade students discussed what makes rivers flow. In this activity, students took turns using a spray bottle to make rainfall on paper models of mountains to observe patterns of how water flowed.
