Students across all grade levels were treated to a well-deserved reward in celebration of reaching the 4th quarter reading goal. The festivities kicked off yesterday with preschoolers enjoying a beautiful afternoon outdoors, taking full advantage of the sunny weather.
This morning, students in grades K–5 were split into two divisions—K–2 and 3–5—for an exciting rotation of activities. Events included two games of kickball, free play in the park, and other engaging outdoor games designed to keep students having fun with others and smiling!
One highlight of the day came upon completion of kickball, when Team Hughes (led by Miss Hughes) were named kickball champions going undefeated. Despite a few activities being moved indoors due to the windy and eventually rainy weather, both students and staff had a fantastic time celebrating their hard work and love for reading.

Today at Emerson-Hubbard Middle/High School we recognized a group of outstanding individuals as our Students and Staff of the Year. These students and staff have consistently demonstrated what it means to lead with character, kindness, and integrity.
They were selected not for one single act, but for their daily commitment to doing what is right, even when no one is watching. Each of them has earned genuine recognition from both staff and students throughout the year, praise that reflects the meaningful and lasting impact they have on those around them.
Through their actions, words, and attitudes, they have helped build and sustain a positive school culture, one where everyone feels seen, respected, and valued. They have shown us that leadership doesn’t always come with a title, but rather through consistent, everyday choices that uplift and inspire others.
Congratulations to our 2024-25 Students and Staff of the Year.:
Cy Mueller, Cruz Rangel, Jayda Stallbaum, Abe Mueller, Ty Nielsen, and DeLaney Fuchser
