The 2025 SkillsUSA Nebraska State Leadership and Skills Championships were held on April 10-12th in Grand Island. In our inaugural year of SkillsUSA, the Emerson-Hubbard Chapter, with Mr. Blake Eriksen as their advisor, took eight students to the state competitions and brought home four medals! Congrats to all! High school members who placed in the top 3 and middle school members who placed in the top 2 are automatic qualifiers for the 2025 FBLA National Leadership Conference in Anaheim, California, this summer, from June 27th to July 3rd! 🌴✨
All other students who placed are considered alternates, as each Nebraska FBLA member may only compete in one event at Nationals.

Good luck to E-H Quiz Bowl Team as they compete at the NECC Quiz Bowl in Norfolk today! Team members are: Kim Ahlers, Micaela Tornez, AJ Usngan, Kiya Tornez, and Drayden Zayas. Quiz Bowl coach is Mr. Ed Griesel. May the force of knowledge be with you!
What is NECC Quiz Bowl?
It is a double-elimination competition between two teams of four players, from the same Class C or Class D high school, enrolled in grades 9-12. Points are awarded for correct answers to questions taken from all areas of academic knowledge as well as current events. The team with highest number of points at end of each round advances in competition. A plaque is given to the school winning the competition and medals are awarded to team members.
