Due to a high number of staff members absent and our lack of substitutes to fill those open classrooms, Emerson-Hubbard Public Schools (grades PS – 12) will be closed Wednesday, August 26th through Friday, August 28th. We will continue to assess the situation and provide an update later this week about how we plan to proceed. The High School football and volleyball teams will continue to practice and the games will be played as scheduled. Junior High practices have been cancelled for the remainder of the week.

Emerson-Hubbard Public Schools has been notified of confirmed, positive COVID-19 tests in the 3rd grade classroom of the Elementary School. Those that have been deemed a close contact have been notified. We will close the impacted classroom effective immediately for a 14-day window; the impacted class will be working remotely during this time. We continue to encourage all parents to temperature scan and monitor students closely for any sign of potential illness. Students should remain at home if they are exhibiting any symptoms of COVID-19: including fever, new or persistent cough, headache, loss of taste/smell, fatigue, and/or stomach issues (diarrhea). We appreciate your continued support. If you have direct questions, please contact Lindsey Beaudette by email at: lbeaudette@ehpirates.org or by phone: 402-695-2636.

New Staff
We are so excited to welcome back our students on Thursday for the start of the 2020-2021 school year. We have updated our re-opening plan and it can be found under the documents section of our school website and on our app. New Item: Masks, shields, or face coverings will be required for students and staff when we are unable to maintain social distancing. (Masks will be provided by the district or you may bring your own face covering from home). By requiring a mask when we are unable to social distance, we will be able to keep more of our students in our buildings if a positive case of COVID-19 is found in the district. Reminders: *Doors will not be open until 7:45 a.m. *We will screen students as they get on the bus and/or arrive at the building. *We are not allowing visitors at this time. *Please monitor your students for symptoms and signs of sickness. *Keep your child home if they are not filling well. If you have any questions, please call the school. As always, thank you for your understanding and support as we navigate our way through the school year.
